I think that in some ways everybody is like Roger. Everybody thinks that when their friends have a problem, that they know the answer and that it&#39;s much easier to analyze the problems of other people than your own.

The single most exciting thing you encounter in government is competence, because it&#39;s so rare.

My belief is the majority of people in politics are just interested in pursuing this career in politics, and doing what&#39;s necessary to get themselves re-elected. And if that happens to coincide with the public good, great. But if it doesn&#39;t, the public good loses out.

Learning is what most adults will do for a living in the 21st century.
