These days you&#39;re not just competing with the tedium, you&#39;re competing with the cellphone.

One learns when one has to; one learns when one needs a way out; one learns at all costs. One stands over oneself with a whip; one flays oneself at the slightest opposition.

In all honesty, I&#39;m not able to talk about contracts. It&#39;s nothing with &#39;American Idol&#39; in particular, it&#39;s just things I really need to take care of in my life.

My God, he thought, the man I once was!  The life that surrounded me! The force that was mine! No "otherness" to be felt anywhere! Once upon a time I was a full human being.
